Online Tutoring
Online tutoring at Study Mentors started as a means to offer our students continued mentorship despite the ongoing public health crisis. However, by incorporating technology into our lessons, we have since found that many of our students love the added flexibility of online tutoring: no more rushing to get to and from an office between events, facing traffic and other concerns. And the best part is that lessons keep that same personalized focus that made our service popular in the first place.
We use two online platforms : Zoom and Google Meet. You will have the choice as to which you prefer when you schedule time.

Adaptable Lessons for Every Student’s Needs
At the end of the day, we want to make sure that our students get the help they need. We understand that not every student who –now, figuratively – walks through our doors needs hour-long lessons or catered assistance.
We believe that students shouldn’t have to reserve an entire hour for a question that only needs a few minutes of explanation. As such, we now offer lessons in 30-minute increments with no maximum timeframe (though we don’t typically recommend lessons longer than two hours, at least not without a break!). So, you can schedule as little as 30 min, if you only have a few questions.
Furthermore, we also understand that some students don’t require (or want) one-on-one attention, for any number of reasons. For this reason, we have now started to offer group tutoring so that students can get the exact type of help they need while also having the ability to bounce ideas off their peers. In fact, group lessons are perfect for students who are working together on projects or studying for the same tests, like a class test or the SAT.

Virtual Tutoring from Anywhere
Because our office is now virtual, there’s no reason we can’t help students from anywhere in the United States. Our mentors work mainly on the Pacific Standard Time Zone, but do have some options for mentors in a few other time zones. Ask about availability.
That being said, it’s worth noting that some subjects — but history in particular — might be taught a little bit differently across state borders. Parents or students with concerns should simply contact us and we can work out all the details.
